Consultant in Public Health
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to join the Public Health Directorate, NHS Grampian. The main base for this post is at Summerfield House, Aberdeen, however you will provide support across the North of Scotland.
You must be appropriately qualified and will be expected to have the skills and experience to lead across the full spectrum of public health, and hold a work plan with a specific remit for Healthcare Planning and Resilience.
You will carry important leadership responsibilities for the Public Health Directorate including Health Protection, Clinical Strategy Implementation and Major Infectious Disease preparedness.
You will participate in an on-call rota with a 1 in 7 commitment.
In addition, you will have responsibility for development, implementation and delivery of national, regional and local policies, developing inter-agency/disciplinary strategic plans and programmes, with delegated organisational authority to deliver key public health targets.
You will also be expected to maintain the long established excellent working relationships with local authorities, local clinicians and the academic department in the University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon’s University and will foster networks on a local, regional and national basis.
Applications are invited from Public Health doctors who hold full GMC registration, a licence to practice and who are included in the GMC Specialist Register (Public Health Medicine) / Public Health Specialists who are on the Voluntary Register (UKPHR).
Successful candidates who are appropriately qualified will be offered the posts under the terms of the new Consultant Contract, and those who are appropriately qualified Public Health Specialists will be offered the posts under the terms of Agenda for Change.
