Locum Consultant in Paediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery
Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant in Paediatric/Neonatal Cardiothoracic Surgery to complete a team of five consultant Paediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeons covering the Cardiothoracic Unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH).
This post will be primarily responsible for Paediatric cardiac surgery, with main focus on neonatal and complex infant surgery but will also play a role in heart and lung transplantation and provide surgical support to the ECMO programme, with potential input into Grown-up Congenital Heart Disease Surgery.
The post, that will commence as soon as possible and is open to applicants with substantial experience in congenital/Paediatric and neonatal cardiothoracic surgery, and the successful applicant will be expected to be able to perform a wide range of Paediatric cardiothoracic surgery, with special focus on neonatal and complex infant surgery, including transplantation.
The Cardiothoracic Unit at GOSH is the largest Cardiothoracic Paediatric (ages 0-16 years) Unit in the UK and has a worldwide reputation. It cares for patients with all types of congenital heart and lung defects, and has large transplant and ECMO services. It also houses the largest Paediatric thoracic practice in the UK and the only tracheal service.
