Upcoming Psychiatrist and Registrar positions at the Mental Health Observation Area, Joondalup Health Campus

JHC is 669-bed public and private hospital campus, owned and operated by Ramsay Health Care. Situated on the coast 30 minutes north of Perths CBD, we provide comprehensive acute medical care to the community of the Perths northern suburbs. Applications are invited from psychiatrists and medical graduates for positions at the soon to be Mental Health Observation Area at Joondalup Health Campus.

Construction of a 10-bed Mental Health Observation Area (MHOA) at Joondalup Health Campus (JHC) adjacent to the JHC Emergency Department is now well underway. The building is set for completion by early 2018 but has the potential to be completed earlier.

Ramsay Health Care

The MHOA will improve care for patients suffering from mental health illness by providing a more appropriate environment, away from the busy ED. The MHOA will provide acute treatment for Psychiatric ED presentations, including patients awaiting a bed in a Mental Health Unit and patients that do not require admission to the Mental Health Unit and are likely to be fit for community follow-up within 72 hours.

Patient-centered treatment will be provided every day of the week by a multidisciplinary team consisting of Psychiatrist, Registrar, RMO, nursing staff, social worker and alcohol/drug service representative. The MHOA team will work in close collaboration with carers and community mental health services to ensure integrated continuity of care.

Applications are invited for the following positions:

  • Consultant Psychiatrist
  • Medical Officer positions at the level of Registrar (3 or more years Postgraduate)

We are offer a competitive Salary Package. Transfer of visa, if applicable, is available for suitable applicants.
