THE ROYAL OLDHAM HOSPITAL
We are seeking to appoint one Consultant Colorectal Surgeon to create a team of 16 consultants.
The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust provides services to the people of Bury, North Manchester, Rochdale and Oldham with a catchment population of over 820,000 residents. The Trust currently employs over 9,000 multi-disciplinary staff across its four hospital sites, making it one of the largest Trusts in the UK providing secondary care for the North East region of Greater Manchester. All Trust locations are within easy reach of
Manchester City Centre which offers a plethora of leisure and social opportunities. The Trust has placed its Mission Statement at the heart of all its objectives – “To be Responsible, Quality Driven and Compassionate”.
Candidates are expected to have a strong background in gastrointestinal and
general surgery. The Trust will encourage and support successful candidates to develop sub-specialist interests that are in keeping with its vision e.g. day case and 23 hr surgery.
The Directorate provide inpatient services centralised at the North Manchester and Royal Oldham sites and outpatient, endoscopy and day case services delivered from all four sites. The post holder will be expected to take part in a 1-in-8 on-call rota at their base site, and will have a job plan that involves elective sessions delivered from two sites.
Candidates are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of their expected date of receipt of CCT at time of interview.
