University Hospital Aintree NHS Foundation Trust wishes to appoint two Consultant Radiologists with an interest in Cross Sectional imaging.

The post holders would be encouraged to develop areas of special interest to reflect the department needs of Uro-Radiology and Musculoskeletal Radiology.

Aintree University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a large, complex organisation providing acute health care to a population of 330,000 in North Merseyside and surrounding areas. Aintree Trust has been the designated Major Trauma Centre since December 2011 for Cheshire and Merseyside.

Our community trauma catchment covers some 33 square miles
which is largely urban and comprises the industrial and commercial centre of Bootle with its docklands complex. The Trust provides acute hospital services to the residents of South Sefton, North Liverpool and Kirkby. It is also a teaching hospital of the University of Liverpool and a tertiary centre providing some specialist services to a much wider population of around 1.5
million in Merseyside, Cheshire, South Lancashire and North Wales.

Aintree Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust continues to be one of the top performing University Hospitals in the country for Trauma services, and is fully registered (with no conditions) with the Care Quality Commission.

The trust has a new Emergency Department, a newly opened Critical Care Department and an excellent Clinical Sciences Research and Education Building containing the Wolfson Lecture Theatre, modern well equipped library and IT centre.

The appointed candidates will be based at University Hospital Aintree and will be a member of the Radiology Business Unit. Duties will be undertaken in conjunction with consultant colleagues.

Applicants are required to hold the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) or equivalent qualifications, to be fully registered with the General Medical Council with license to practise and listed on the Specialist Register or due to be registered within six months of the date
of appointment.
