Consultant Geriatrician in Acute Frailty Services
We are looking for a Consultant to join the Department of Ageing and Health at the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
This is an exciting time for the Department and Trust as we look to develop our Acute Frailty Services across the whole system in conjunction with Acute Frailty Network. We are looking to dramatically expand the Department by appointing another Consultant to our award winning Orthogeriatrics service.
Our new Orthogeriatrician will work with an existing colleague to enable expansion of the service. The result will be a comprehensive Orthogeriatric service, including perioperative clinics and care for elective patients, ownership of patients living with frailty and with non-hip fracture on Orthopaedic wards and development of a specialist surgical liaison model.
We are looking for colleagues with broad geriatric medicine expertise to join a department of seven other Consultants. Subspecialty interests are welcome and we would look to accommodate these in to our overarching strategy for older peoples’ care. There will be other opportunities to lead service development as we look to expand older peoples’ care across the Trust.
The successful candidates will have CCT or equivalent and be on the Specialist Register for Geriatric medicine when they take up the post (applications are welcome from those within six months of their CCT date).
Enquires about the posts are very welcome – please contact Dr James Adams, Clinical Director for Frailty Services or Dr Helen Wilson on 01483 571122 ext 4105.
