We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic colleague who is committed to excellence in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery to join our dynamic multidisciplinary breast care team.

The breast service operates within a busy, thriving outpatients’ clinic, being supported by an excellent breast imaging unit running alongside the 3symptomatic clinics every week. The service includes mammography, ultrasound and MRI. There is a purpose built large on site Oncology unit. The unit is also supported by a bone health assessment service with a DEXA scanner in conjunction with the Biochemistry and Rheumatology departments.

Ipswich Hospital provides the East Suffolk breast screening service accounting for 100 new screen detected breast cancers per annum in addition to >250 symptomatic breast cancers.

The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust is one of the largest district general hospitals (approx 550 beds) in the East Anglian Region, serving the district of east Suffolk’s catchment population of around 385,000.

The hospital has committed to entering into a long term partnership with Colchester Hospital NHS Foundation trust and therefore it is an exciting time to join, being an integral part in its future transformation.

Ipswich Hospital’s most recent CQC report saw us rated as good and we have recently received awards for our Frailty Assessment Base (FAB) as well as being cited as a pioneer of the Red to Green Initiative.

Ipswich offers all the advantages of urban living with easy access to the beautiful county of Suffolk. Reasonable house prices and an excellent choice of both state and private sector schools make this an ideal area for families. There are numerous villages within easy driving distance of the hospital for those who prefer a rural setting. Ipswich is linked to Cambridge and all areas of the United Kingdom by dual carriageway. London is easily accessible by rail and Stansted airport is just over one hour’s drive away.
