We are seeking to appoint a new Director of Medical Studies/Senior Clinical
Researcher who will have primary responsibility for the strategic oversight and management of high quality, internationally competitive psychiatry training for undergraduate and postgraduate clinical students. You will conduct a programme of research which fits with the Department’s strategic aims and will provide clinical service within the Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. The post is held within the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.

This post is full-time (10 programmed activities) and funded for a fixed-term
(5 years in the first instance).

The post provides an exciting opportunity to work in a world-class environment for pursuing academic and clinical interests in psychiatry. The post is hosted by a successful Oxford department that is committed to doing research which benefits patients and training the next generation of clinical academics. You will link closely with the new National Institute for Health Research Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre, which was awarded in recognition of our internationally-excellent biomedical and early translational (experimental medicine) research and researchers.

Applicants must be medical qualified with MRCPsych and eligible for appointment as a consultant in Psychiatry. Applicants should have a higher degree (MD/PhD), or equivalent research experience, with a proven research track record and the ability to secure independent funding for research. Experience in teaching and assessment is essential, as is a demonstrable commitment to the high quality teaching and support of medical students and postgraduate clinical trainees.
