mental health services in Luton and Bedfordshire.
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the
Hackney Integrated Learning Disability Service, which is a joint health
and social care service provided in partnership with the London Borough
of Hackney. The work is primarily community based, with no direct
inpatient responsibility. In line with the Transforming Care agenda, we
have a strong record of supporting people with a high level of needs in
community settings, supporting access to generic mental health services
where possible, and minimising the use of specialist inpatient beds.
There is a strong commitment to training, and you would be expected to
provide clinical supervision to both core and higher psychiatric trainees
placed within the service, as well as providing placements for medical
students from Queen Mary, University of London. We also have strong
research links with University College London and the you would be
expected to encourage participation in their research programs.
