2x Consultant Paediatricans (10 PAs)
1 based at the William Harvey Hospital (WHH), Ashford
1 based at Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother (QEQM) Hospital, Margate

At EKHUFT we are pleased to be offering 2 exciting new consultant posts to join our dynamic Child Health Team. The Executive Team have recently approved a business case to expand the Consultant Team and within this is the opportunity to develop our services as well as implement new and innovative ways of working. As part of this programme of innovation we would like to develop the service place to meet the demands and deliver a responsive and timely service to our local paediatric population.
We have identified Gastroenterology and Cardiology as the clinical areas for development and would like to recruit a new consultant at the WHH with Gastroenterology as a specialist interest and Cardiology as an interest at QEQM. Training in these areas is not essential to the application and we strongly encourage applications from candidates without this experience with a view to bespoke training in post.

Both posts provide an exciting opportunity to get involved in development of our services with a cross site perspective and will suit an individual who understands the value of shared learning and development.

The Child Health Department at EKHUFT encompasses a broad range of paediatric services with Inpatient paediatric and neonatal services located at the William Harvey Hospital (WHH) in Ashford, inpatient and Special Care Baby Unit facilities at Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital (QEQM) in Margate. Ambulatory paediatric care is provided at Dolphin Ward, Kent and Canterbury Hospital (KCH), Canterbury and Carousel Ward, Buckland Hospital, Dover. Community and outpatient services are provided in other facilities. Community Child Health is integrated within the East Kent Hospitals Trust.

You will be an individual who has a strong commitment to the EKHUFT Child Health Directorate, keen for an involvement in audit, appraisal, clinical governance and quality improvement. Candidates should have general Paediatric and neonatology training and full GMC registration.

If you wish to discuss the post please contact Abigail Price abigalprice@nhs.net or 01843 235128 or by clicking the apply button.

Closing date: 18th August 2017.
