Full time interventional consultant radiologist positions based at the Royal London and St. Bartholomew’s hospitals.
We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our dynamic team of 63 consultant radiologists across the Trust to help deliver the service and to support an active training programme. You will join a dynamic and evolving workforce in an organisation with a dedicated interventional radiology suite which is amongst the largest in the UK with significant plans for expansion.
The service encompasses 9 substantive consultant interventional ra-diologists, 8 dedicated interventional radiographers and 45 nurses who support interventional radiology lists including 6 health care assistants. The service has five dedicated interventional radiology rooms and a hybrid room that is being commissioned in the cardiothoracic surgical suite.
The successful appointees will be responsible for sharing duties related to interventional radiology across Barts Health Trust.
There is an East London Vascular Network with 11 vascular surgeons. The Trust is a recognised national and regional referral centre for hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, upper GI and colorectal cancer, urology, renal medicine, oncology and cardiothoracic surgery.
The helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) is part of the busy major trauma centre based at the Royal London Hospital, often requiring interventional services.
There are currently 7 radiologists providing interventional radiology services and 2 providing interventional neuroradiology services.
You would be encouraged to develop a subspecialty interest within interventional radiology as well as help provide a core service. You will have general duties in radiology.
You will work in state of the art facilities in the newly built departments of imaging at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospital.
