Scarborough Hospital

Are you looking for a fulfilling career in Colorectal surgery? Come and join our dynamic general surgical team in Scarborough. We are looking for two enthusiastic surgeons to help us develop our Colorectal and Emergency General Surgical service. You will join six other GI surgeons to provide a 1 in 8 on call rota, supported by three tiers of junior doctors. Your elective work will be based at Scarborough and Bridlington hospitals. One post will support the delivery of Colorectal cancer services in the region. The second post offers opportunities to develop a specialist interest in either IBD or Pelvic floor surgery.

Candidates must have a higher medical qualification (FRCS or equivalent) and be on the GMC Specialist Register for General Surgery, or be
within Six-Twelve months of obtaining their CCT, CESR, or European Community Rights at the time of interview (we encourage candidates outside this time frame to contact the department for more information).

We are committed to ensuring a sustainable work life balance and are happy to develop individualised job plans to suit the applicants’ needs and consider
candidates who wish to work less than full time.

For informal enquires for the above posts than please contact Marcel Gatt (Colorectal Cancer Lead- 07792 768777) or Liz Hill (Directorate Manager-07540 984642) or email at Marcel.Gatt@york.nhs.uk or Liz.Hill@york.nhs.uk
