An opportunity to develop a rheumatology service in a friendly regional Trust, with links to the University of Cambridge and Eastern Regional Rheumatology?

Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust and Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust combined on 1st April 2017 to become the new North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking to recruit a new full time rheumatology consultant to be based on the Hinchingbrooke Hospital (Huntingdon) campus.

This is an opportunity for a Full Time Rheumatology Consultant to support and develop the high quality rheumatology services at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. The successful applicant will be based full time at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and will be responsible for providing general in-patient and out-patient adult rheumatology care, without any out-of- hours on-call commitment. Acute in-patient referrals are seen by the department’s consultants on a daily basis during working hours (out-of- hours
patients are seen by the on-call general medical team and referred to the
rheumatology department the next morning).

The Trust is linked with the University of Cambridge for undergraduate teaching and Health Education East of England for postgraduate training. This provides opportunities for the post-holder to get involved with both undergraduate and postgraduate education, if this is of interest to them.

As a larger organisation we have increased opportunities to enhance our services, ensuring we provide the best patient experience and clinical outcomes across a wide range of conditions. The trust is linked with sub-specialist services at Addenbrooke’s and across the East of England (through the East Anglian Rheumatology Society and networks such as the Eastern Network for Rare Autoimmune Diseases). This will give the post holder the opportunity and support to deliver a wide and varied clinical service and also to develop their own leadership and management skills.

We are looking for individuals who demonstrate that they have the same values as ours, who put patients at the centre of what they do, who enjoy teaching and who are keen to join us in working through the new developments.

Whilst this post will initially be solely Hinchingbrooke-based, future service
developments may lead to the opportunity, or requirement, to provide specialty expertise across more than one of the North West Anglia NHSFT sites.
