Our Dermatology Department at Ashford & St Peter’s is expanding after successfully bidding to provide dermatology services in North West Surrey.
Consultant Dermatologist – full time or part time applications will be considered. The successful candidate will provide expertise in general dermatology, skin oncology and minor surgery. You will also be encouraged to develop your own sub-specialty interests which are complementary to the interests already developed by the members of the department
There is no on-call commitment with this role. You will also benefit from continuing professional development via the Royal Society of Medicine and St Johns CPD meetings and our monthly special cases teaching clinic.
You must possess MRCP (or equivalent training and experience), and are on the GMC Specialist Register, or within six months of obtaining a CCT.
We would also consider 12 month fixed term appointments for individuals who require longer to join the GMC Specialist Register.
GP with Specialist Interest in Dermatology: We are interested to hear from candidates who can offer 1 or 2 general dermatology clinics per week. This position attracts admin time and clinical support/mentoring from our Consultant team. Ideal candidates will possess a Diploma in Practical Dermatology.
We are a busy and friendly department providing general, minor surgery and specialist dermatology clinics across North West Surrey. Outpatient clinics are provided at our main hospital sites (St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey (KT16 0PZ) and Ashford Hospital (TW15 3AA) as well as in the community. We also run a day treatment centre at St Peter’s Hospital providing PUVA and UVB treatment and nurse led clinics in skin cancer, minor surgery, Isotretinoin and wound care. We have strong links with the Royal Surrey and St Luke’s Cancer Centre through our specialist MDT meetings and our colleagues in specialist surgery through the local MDT meetings.
The successful candidates will join a multidisciplinary team consisting of Consultants, Specialty Doctors, GPSIs and Specialist Nurses supported by a clinical admin office.
Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust itself is one of the largest non-teaching Trusts in the region. It is an ambitious and successful organisation that gained Foundation status in 2010 and works closely with its community health partners. The Trust has 550 acute beds and serves a population of approximately 450,000 drawn from an area that includes Chertsey, Woking, Walton-on-Thames, Weybridge, Staines, Bedfont, Feltham and Spelthorne. The acute services are provided on the St Peter’s hospital site which has a modern intensive care and coronary care units and sees approximately 100,000 A&E attendances annually. Both sites have a modern postgraduate centre with library services. Sited close to junction 11 and junction 13 of the M25 respectively, both sites have excellent road and rail links to London with easy access to both countryside and coast
