The directorate of Women and Children’s Health is looking to appoint two consultant Obstetricians. This is a busy tertiary level hospital that takes referrals from the surrounding area in both Fetal and Maternal Medicine.

We are a dynamic and forward thinking team that is keen to recruit colleagues who will work flexibly and adapt to the changing needs of the service we provide.

You will be expected to contribute to both inpatient and outpatient services with multidisciplinary clinics. You will work within a team of 12 Obstetricians and 11 Gynaecologists, and will contribute to the out of hour’s services in Obstetrics participating in a non-resident on call rota.

There are approximately 6000 deliveries annually and we wish to increase the direct consultant labour ward cover in line with RCOG guidelines. You will be expected to participate in both undergraduate and post-graduate teaching and training within the Rosie Hospital as part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Post 1: Obstetrics with interest in Maternal Medicine with a focus on care to vulnerable women and perinatal mental health.

Post 2: Obstetrics with subspecialty accreditation in Feto-Maternal Medicine.

This will be a 10 PA contract to support the expansion of consultant cover on delivery unit.

You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview.

Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013).
