Clinical Research Associate 

Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Associate in the Department of Clinical and Experimental Epilepsy, UCL Institute of Neurology, under the supervision of Professor Sanjay Sisodiya. 

The main purpose of the post is to advance research into, and clinical interpretation and translation of, epilepsy genetics, including gathering and interpretation of clinical and investigational data, and collaboration with national and international initiatives. The postholder will recruit and characterise in detail individuals and families with epilepsy for genetic, genotype-phenotype and functional studies within the overall aims of the group. Duties will include undertaking analysis of genetic data, possibly including array CGH, whole exome, whole genome and other data, and collaborating with the Synaptopathies initiative group (, and other national (eg. Genomics England 100,000 Genomes project) and international initiatives. 

Applicants should be a registered Medical Practitioner and have completed general medical training, and hold MRCP, or equivalent. Experience in neurology is essential, as is published experience of research in neurology or genetics. Experience of phlebotomy and knowledge of contemporary genetics is desirable. 

The post is available immediately and is funded by a grant from the Epilepsy Society for two years in the first instance. Starting salary on UCL CL7 grade in the range £34,911 - £43,071 pa, including London Allowance, superannuable.
