Vacancies are available across England, Wales and Scotland. Members are assigned to a primary hearing venue, though may be invited to sit at other locations.
Members sit for a minimum of 15 days a year.
To apply you must:
- have unconditional registration with the GMC
There is no upper or lower age limit for candidates apart from the statutory retirement age. However, the age at which someone is appointed as a Medical member must allow for a reasonable length of service before retirement, usually for these posts it is 4 years. The Commission will make the decision as to whether a candidate will be able to provide a reasonable length of service.
