Applications are invited for a Consultant in Obstetrics with Interest in High Risk Obstetrics. This is a substantive appointment, based at Lister Hospital in Stevenage. The post comprises 10 programmed activities (PAs) and one resident night on labour ward per week. There is no additional on call commitment. 

This is an excellent opportunity within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. The post holder will join an established consultant team with a wide range of Gynaecology and Obstetric skills and experience, including specialist antenatal clinics for diabetes, perinatal mental health, multiple pregnancy, Fetal Medicine, Gynae-oncology, Colposcopy, Infertility, recurrent miscarriage, Post-menopausal bleeding, Out-patient Hysteroscopy and Uro-gynaecology. 

Although near London, Stevenage is in a rural setting and well served by rail and road. There is a wide choice of housing, good schools and excellent leisure facilities. 

Following the investment of £150 million in major new facilities at the Lister, along with a £30 million New QEII hospital built by the local clinical commissioning group, the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust has brought together all its specialist emergency and inpatient services at the Stevenage hospital.

Our state-of–the-art clinical facilities include a major new Emergency Department, the Hertfordshire Cardiology Centre (which includes a 24/7 PPCI service), new scanning centre, McMillan chemotherapy unit, ward, endoscopy and theatre blocks.
