NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) Medical Staff Bank are seeking two Consultants in Medicine for the Elderly for immediate bank placements available at: 

  • Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock 
  • Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of Consultants providing Medicine for the Elderly services across the Inverclyde and Paisley catchment area. Based at either Inverclyde Royal Hospital or Royal Alexandra Hospital you will work with other Consultants to provide a comprehensive Older Peoples Service. This post will have a specific role on the management of Movement Disorder/Falls and support the new needs-led service for Older Acute Medical Admissions. There is flexibility to accommodate the interests of applicants with opportunities for development. These posts are currently in the process of being advertised as substantial posts.

If you are an experienced Consultant in Medicine for the Elderly available in the first instance for a 3-month placement then we would welcome your application. 
To become a full member of the NHSGGC Medical Staff Bank you must complete our recruitment and registration process.

Getting that started is quick and easy - just send us your CV then we'll carry out essential compliance checks. This will include an interview, references, Occupational Health, Eligibility to work within the UK and membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG scheme.

Applicants should have a minimum of six months experience working in the NHS within the last 2 years at the relevant Grade and Specialty.

All candidates must have full GMC registration and be on the specialist register or be within 6 months of gaining CCT at time of interview. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training. Once you have successfully completed our registration process you should be ready to start in just a couple of weeks. We can then match your skills and availability with the shift demand across NHSGGC Acute hospitals – this helps to ensure there will be suitable shifts available when you are available to work.
