NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) Medical Staff Bank is seeking a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine for an immediate bank placement available at Inverclyde Royal Hospital. 

This post will involve in-patient, out-patient and on-call emergency work at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.

The Respiratory Department at Inverclyde Royal Hospital currently has 17 in–patient beds. In addition the respiratory Consultants provide senior specialty cover to the medical admissions/receiving ward and provide specialist input to patients in critical care. Out-patient clinics are held at Inverclyde Royal Hospital and as well as general respiratory out-patient clinics, we have also sub-specialist clinics for lung cancer, pulmonary fibrosis and asthma. The Respiratory Department sees approximately 1,034 new out-patients per year and over 925 follow up patients If you are experienced Respiratory Medicine consultant available in the first instance for a 3 month placement then we would welcome your application.

Applicants should have a minimum of six months experience working in the NHS within the last 2 years at the relevant Grade and Specialty.

All candidates must have full GMC registration and be on the specialist register or be within 6 months of gaining CCT at time of interview. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training. Once you have successfully completed our registration process you should be ready to start in just a couple of weeks. We can then match your skills and availability with the shift demand across NHSGGC Acute hospitals – this helps to ensure there will be suitable shifts available when you are available to work.
