We require one full-time Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Heart of England Foundation Trust, based at Good Hope Hospital with an interest in complex obstetrics, perinatal mental health and rota management 
This post is as a full time consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Heart of England Foundation Trust. The majority of duties will be at Good Hope Hospital but the post holder will be expected to work flexibly across sites according to the needs of the service. There are 10 Programmed activities as per the job plan below. 

The post will involve clinical activity principally in obstetrics, with a special interest in complex obstetrics including perinatal mental health and ultrasound and support the preterm prevention clinic based at Heartlands Hospital, including cervical cerclage. Gynaecology duties will be appropriate to the skills of the postholder, including the option of joining the ambulatory gynaecology team. 

The successful applicant will play a key role in the provision of consultant obstetric ultrasound (excluding anomaly scans) at Good Hope Hospital, working closely with the Fetal Medicine team. 

The postholder must show competency and experience in managing complex obstetrics and the successful applicant will also have a role in overseeing the medical rota; experience in this area is essential. 

The successful candidate should have extensive experience in labour ward management and advanced practice, including high dependency care and demonstrate the ability to undertake and teach others to undertake complex obstetric deliveries. The RCOG ATSM training in advanced Labour Ward Management is essential. The RCOG ATSM in advanced antenatal practice and benign gynaecological surgery: hysteroscopy are also highly desirable. The candidate must demonstrate an ability to work as part of a broad consultant team, with the expectation that further changes will occur in all job plans as the department develops. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the continued development of obstetrics and gynaecology services in Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust. S/he will share the management of admitted patients and will provide care for his/her patients admitted to the Trust. S/he will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide continuity of care for patients in this Trust. 

Applicants should possess the MRCOG or equivalent and Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) or equivalent and be on the GMC Specialist Register or be eligible for entry within six months of the Advisory Appointments Committee. Successful candidates will be required to participate in the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme run by the Royal College of Obstetrics.
