In addition, we are just weeks away from completion of an exciting £250 million project to open the region’s new 350 bedroom acute hospital; allowing us to deliver safe and person centred acute care in outstanding facilities. 

We are looking for a dynamic and forward thinking Medical Director to provide professional and strategic leadership across the Medical workforce, and the wider organisation. As a key member of the Senior Management Team and an Executive Director of the Board and Integrated Joint Board advisor you will carry a portfolio of responsibility including leading;
The ongoing development of professional excellence
Clinical strategy implementation
Board information governance 

To be successful in this exciting role you will have strong credentials as a clinical leader. You will come with a proven track record of delivering transformational change to clinical services, and demonstrate qualities and values necessary to engage effectively with groups and individuals. 

The appointment requires current GMC registration and license to practice and inclusion on the specialist register. 

Dumfries & Galloway is situated in the South West of Scotland amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK. The town of Dumfries is located approximately one hour from the Lake District and has good transport links to major cities including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Belfast.
