Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals is inviting applications for a Consultant Paediatrician post.

This post will provide an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the care of children of Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.

The Trust is seeking to a highly motivated individual who can realise the potential of the role and directly influence both service delivery and the future development plans for the paediatric services locally.

A key driver for is to improve the overall patient experience and this is focused around providing a high quality, safe, responsive and coordinated service. The service is therefore looking to appoint an individual who has the vision, drive and commitment to work flexibly and is passionate about caring for children in Hull and surrounding areas.

Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust provides a comprehensive range of acute services from its two main hospital sites with some specialised serviced aimed at an extended catchment area of 1.2 million people. It is a designated centre for major trauma, cardiology and vascular services as well as having a recently opened purpose built Emergency Department which includes a large purpose designed Paediatric Emergency Department.

The Trust has a budget of £481 million and employs 8,000 staff and is committed to the continuous development of a service of the highest possible quality. The Trust, in collaboration with the Universities of Hull and York, established the joint Undergraduate Medical School of the Universities of Hull and York (HYMS), which celebrated its tenth year in 2013.

In addition to the full range of acute paediatric service provision made by the Trust, a comprehensive range of community based services are provided by the City Healthcare Partnership, serving the city of Hull and the residents of the East Riding of Yorkshire.

The successful postholder will be required to provide services over seven days.
