Consultant Respiratory Physician
Applications are invited for a Consultant Physician in Respiratory Medicine with a specialist interest in thoracic malignancy.
This is an exciting opportunity for an applicant to join an enthusiastic, supportive and dedicated team of 5.3 existing consultants on the Worcestershire Royal site at a time of on-going departmental expansion.
The successful candidate will be committed to provide excellent clinical care and to work as part of a larger countywide team of consultants, providing the best Respiratory Medicine services we can to the Worcestershire population.
This is a replacement post for a respiratory clinician with a specialist interest in thoracic malignancy and endobronchial ultrasound.
The proposed job plan attracts 9PAs, including 1PA for out of hours general medical on-call activity and can be considered a 0.8WTE post.
The department of respiratory medicine at Worcestershire Royal Hospital has a progressive ethos. Existing sub-specialist clinics include Lung cancer, pulmonary nodules, asthma and allergy, ILD, pleural disease and sleep medicine. The lung cancer service is supported by 2 lung cancer specialist nurses. There is a new cancer centre on the Worcestershire Royal site allowing most cancer treatments now to be delivered locally. The cancer pathway is undergoing development towards the national optimum pathway with the initiation of a diagnostic and triage meeting and nodule service over the past 12 months. We have close links to the Universities of Worcester and Birmingham and are actively recruiting to national clinical trials. Applicants with an interest in teaching and or research are particularly welcomed.
