Consultant in Emergency Medicine
Applications are invited for a Consultant in the Emergency Medicine department at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This post is to support the existing consultants in delivering a high quality Emergency Medicine service.
Addenbrooke’s Hospital has been commissioned as the Major Trauma Centre for the East of England Regional Major Trauma Network and has been operating as such since April 2012. The Emergency Department provides the support to the trauma network and manages all major trauma patients from the East of England region and hospitals.
Applicants must have the ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems including major trauma management and be able to take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients. The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013).
In order to be considered for Consultant posts applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register or be eligible for entry onto the Register or be within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training in Emergency Medicine (CCT) at the time of interview.
