Are you keen to join a forward thinking and dynamic Neurosurgical team in the 2017 ‘City of Culture’ city of Hull?

We are looking to recruit two complex spinal surgeons to join the Neurosurgery team.

This post has been created to comply with 24/7 complex spine cover and to serve the increased demand on spinal service. Currently the Neurosurgery department is one of the busiest Neurosurgery units providing spinal services as per the national Neurosurgery audit data.

The successful applicant will be required to support inpatient and outpatient Spinal services at the Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. The post holder will play a critical role in delivering Spinal service for Hull, the Yorkshire & Humber region and North East Lincolnshire. The Service treats patients from Hull, Scarborough, Bridlington, York, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Lincoln, Louth and Doncaster

The Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust provides a comprehensive range of acute services from two hospital sites. We serve a local population of approximately 600,000 with tertiary services extending to a catchment area of 1.2million. Hull achieved Major Trauma Centre status in 2013.

With an annual budget of £481 million and employing over 8,000 staff we are committed to the continuous development of services for the benefit of patients and to providing a comprehensive service of the highest possible quality.

Hull is UK City of Culture for 2017. The region features a diverse coastline ranging from award winning sandy beaches to dramatic cliffs. Inland you will find mile upon mile of green, unspoilt countryside and woodland that is perfect for walking, cycling or horse riding. There are numerous picture card villages providing delightful but affordable housing within 10 miles of the hospitals and city centre and a good selection of high achieving schools to choose from.
