Consultant Cardiologist (Electrophysiology And Devices)
The University Hospital of the North Midlands Cardiology Department is seeking to appoint a Cardiology Consultant with a sub-specialty interest in electrophysiology and devices.
The Cardiology Department provides tertiary cardiology and cardiac surgery services for over 2 million people across Staffordshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire and South Cheshire, as well secondary care cardiology for the local population.
Cardiology provision within UHNM has recently undergone substantial expansion and you will join a strong team of 21 consultant cardiologists. The Department is currently the biggest device implanting centre in the West Midlands and third biggest ICD implanting centre in the UK. The department performs 2200 PCIs a year making it the fifth biggest PCI centre in the UK.
The successful applicant will join a current team of 3 electrophysiologists providing the full range of invasive EP procedures including atrial fibrillation and ischaemic VT ablation with a view to significantly increasing the electrophysiology profile of the department.
Royal Stoke University Hospital is a large acute hospital in the West Midlands and offers a broad range of medical and surgical specialties. We have excellent transport links, being close to the M6 and A50, and lie roughly centrally between Manchester and Birmingham to the North and South, and Derby and Shrewsbury to the East and West.
Applicants require full GMC Registration and ideally should be within 6 months of obtaining a CCT.
