Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology
Due to a very recent resignation, applications are invited for a Consultant Physician with an interest in Diabetes and Endocrinology.
This post is based at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital with the occasional clinics at Solihull Hospital (see Job Plan).
The Department of Diabetes and Endocrinology is one of the largest Directorates in the Trust and has consultants based at Good Hope, Solihull and Heartlands Hospitals. The directorate provides services within Diabetes, Endocrinology, weight management and retinal screening, community services as well as contributing significant support to general medicine.
It is an exciting and dynamic environment for the management of long term conditions. You will, as part of the directorate be able to contribute to influencing and providing innovative pathways for the future of diabetes long term care management, supporting the delivery of the objectives of the Sustainability transformation plans (STP) as well as being part of service re-design in collaboration with the clinical teams at the University Hospital of Birmingham NHS Foundation trust.
A sample job plan is included in the JD and person specifications but will be finalized with the successful candidate. This will include the expectation of ward rounds and on-call commitments.
