Salary: £ SCS1 or Medical Consultant or
NHS Agenda for Change Band 9 plus the Recruitment and Retention premium of £11,000 per annum

Permanent, Full-time (10 PAs or 40 hours)

The organisation is seeking to appoint a Deputy Director for Health Protection for the West Midlands Centre. 

The Deputy Director for Health Protection will provide local leadership and management of the PHE health protection service across the West Midlands. The postholder has day-today operational responsibility for the provision of a safe and effective health protection service which delivers to high quality standards, is responsive to the needs of the local community,
and works collaboratively with PHE’s partners in the local public health systems.

Candidates will have proven experience as Consultant/Specialist in Control of Communicable Disease/Health Protection as well as experience in leading the delivery of an externally facing service, serving partners and the public.

Candidates must be included on the GMC Specialist Register or UK Public Health Register and will be appointed to the Consultant salary scale appropriate to their years of seniority or if from a background other than medicine to NHS Agenda for Change Band 9.
