Consultant in Paediatric Intensive Care Medicine

This is a permanent and pensionable post with 39 hours at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, Dublin 12, Ireland on a Type B Contract.

The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin (OLCHC), Ireland is a 25-bedded unit that provides a quaternary service with comparable outcomes to similar institutions abroad. It has 19 designated PICU beds and 6 designated High Dependency (HDU) beds. OLCHC is the National Referral Centre for children with Congenital Heart Diseases, Haematology/Oncology Disorders, National Airway Centre,
Gastroenterology, Liver Disorders and Extra Corporeal Life Support. It also
has a unique neonatal, paediatric medical/surgical population and admits
approximately 1,100 patients per annum.

Applicants must be registered as a specialist in the Specialist Division of
the Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in
the specialty of paediatrics, anaesthesia or paediatric surgery and have two
years’ certified postgraduate training in paediatric intensive care medicine.
