Consultant Psychiatrists in Forensic Mental Health
Behavioral and Developmental Psychiatry Clinical Academic Group (CAG), Forensic Mental Illness who will provide consultant clinical care for community patients in Croydon as well as consultant clinical care for 16 inpatients on Brook Ward and will provide consultant clinical care for community patients in the Lewisham Community Forensic Team.
The inpatient facility is River House, a medium secure unit River House in Bethlem Royal Hospital. The unit provides rehabilitation and discharge planning for complex forensic clients, who are mostly stepped down from the forensic PICU and admission ward.
The post-holder would also have protected time allocated for clinical research, audit and supporting activities within the Clinical Academic Group and in collaboration with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology (IoPPN) and Neurosciences Department of Forensic and Neurodevelopmental Science (FANS).
The post holder will have out of hours commitments as part of a Consultant Rota covering the whole SLaM forensic service.
The post holder will be involved as a multidisciplinary team member in the assessment and management of patients on both wards, and occasionally at other clinical and criminal justice sites.
SLaM runs an outstanding programme of continuing professional development for staff in forensic services. The service is also a partner in the South London Partnership, an alliance between forensic services in SLaM, Oxleas and South West London Mental Health Trusts.
