Department of Surgery - Specialty Registrar equivalent

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and qualified individual to assist in delivery of Undergraduate teaching, based within the Dept of Surgery which will focus on teaching Medical Students who rotate from the University of Glasgow (around 16 hrs pw). In addition approx 16 hrs pw will be required to undertake clinical duties at middle grade level within the Dept of Surgery.

Commencing as soon as possible for 1-2 years, you will also be expected to undertake Clinical Research and/or Audit projects in Ayrshire in addition to studying for a further qualification in Medical Education.

On-call is not a current requirement (any change will be discussed with the successful candidate).  Ad hoc on-call sessions may be available on an ongoing basis, paid at national locum rates. Excellent communication skills and General Surgical experience are essential.

Possession of MRCS is preferable but not essential. Please note that this post does not carry educational approval by the Postgraduate Dean.
