The Trust is committed to providing high quality integrated health and social care for local people with mental health problems in South West London and more specialist mental health services for people throughout the UK.

We are a dynamic, financially stable mental health trust which has recently been rated ‘good’ by the CQC both overall and specifically for our acute care services. We have recently begun a Trustwide quality improvement programme involving all clinicians. We are investing in further improvements to our acute services, including innovative ‘crisis cafés’ for service users, and new integrated out of hours services.

We are looking for another Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Acute & Urgent Care consultant body. This is a new post, arising because of the commitment of more funding to the service by Wandsworth & Merton CCGs.

This new post expands the Older Adult specialism within the large and well-established Liaison Psychiatry team at St George’s Hospital. It is based in Grosvenor wing, in the heart of the hospital. The Consultant Psychiatrist will work with the existing Consultant to provide senior cover to the hospital wards and the Accident and Emergency Department, whilst working within and jointly supervising the Liaison Team. During daytime hours, the team sees patients above18 years in all wards and departments, including the Emergency Department and Medical Assessment Unit.

If you are an experienced dynamic practitioner who would like to be part of this expanding service we would like to hear from you.

For further details/informal visits contact: Dr Sean Whyte, Interim Clinical Director for the Service Line on 07976 287232 or or Dr Marcus Hughes, Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist on 020 8725 3795 or

Closing date: Monday 26th June 2017.
Shortlisting: Tuesday 27th June 2017.
