The Nobles Hospital team is looking to recruit a consultant radiologist to work on a 10 PAs contract. The post is based at Noble’s Hospital which is a modern, bright hospital serving the acute healthcare needs of the Isle of Man. Like the UK NHS, the Isle of Man Health Service is free at the point of delivery.

The successful candidate will be working within a multidisciplinary team
comprising five consultant radiologists (including this post) with radiographer and clerical team support. We are keen to hear from radiologists with sub specialty interests in Breast Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, MSK radiology, Cross sectional and plain film imaging. To support our service we would also support other specialities within the team.

The Radiology Department is part of the Diagnostics and Professional Services Division at Noble’s Hospital. The new hospital opened in July 2003 and is equipped to the very highest standards, with 64-slice CT, 1.5T MR, angiographic and nuclear medicine facilities. We have recently upgraded our PACS and installed a new radiology information system.

The job plan for these posts consists of 10 Programmed Activities of which 7.5 are allocated to Direct Clinical care (DCC) and 2.5 allocated to Supporting Professional Activities (SPA) Applicants must be on the Specialist Register or be eligible within 6 months of appointment.

The new appointee should be able to willing and able to develop an interest to complement the needs of the department.

Noble’s Hospital operates a well-resourced education and training centre called Keyll Darree, which comprises lecture theatre, well stocked medical library, training facilities and a state of the art simulation lab which is operated by trained simulation practitioners.

The Isle of Man is a self-governing dependency within the British Isles. The Terms and Conditions of service are essentially the same as in the United Kingdom with enhancements such as automatic inclusion of discretionary points (CEA equivalent) in the incremental pay scale, and Category A allowances for all on-call work.
