Consultant Adult Liaison Psychiatrist
We are seeking the appointment of an enthusiastic candidate, capable of driving forward service innovation and delivery, to join a well-established Liaison Psychiatry team based within the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust. The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital was founded in 1907 and became a Trust in 1991. It is the largest orthopaedic hospital in the UK and is regarded a leader in its field, both nationally and internationally.
You will provide a Liaison Psychiatry service at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore Campus, working in close collaboration with Professor George Ikkos, Lead Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist. You will play a key role as part of the psycho-social team model established within the expanding London Spinal Cord Injury Centre. This will include psychiatric assessment and treatment, and psychological support to patients and their families, alongside active support to staff.
The Post sits within the Directorate of Medicine and Therapies. This Directorate has a management triumvirate comprising of a Clinical Directorate, Matron and General Manager. As well as being part of the core team at the London Spinal Cord Injuries Service, the Liaison Psychiatry Department works closely with the Chronic Pain Service and associated Clinical Health Psychology and Rheumatology Services, as well as consulting to Metabolic Bone Disease, Sports and Exercise Medicine, and Surgical services.
