Through tremendous commitment and hard work, the Luton & Dunstable University hospital Paediatrics, Emergency Care Services and Outpatient Services achieved “Outstanding” in our 2016 Care Quality Commission inspection. Similarly the trust had an overall rating of “Good” across the rest of the hospital. The trust was praised as compassionate, empathetic and exhibiting patient outcomes above the average when compared with other acute Trusts.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a substantive Consultant post in Rehabilitation Medicine at the Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation Service at the RNOH and the Limb Fitting Centre at the L&D. The successful candidate will join the specialist multidisciplinary teams in both departments and will be fully supported to deliver and develop both services. There are opportunities for involvement in teaching, audit and postgraduate education in several reputable national specialist courses. Both Trusts have a Research and Development strategy and are an active participant in local and national Clinical Research Networks.
The post is full time (10 programmed activities/week) divided as follows:
- 5 PAs at the Limb Fitting Centre/L&D
- 4 PAs at the Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation unit/RNOH
- 1 PA at the Prosthetic Rehabilitation Unit/RNOH
Applicants must be registered as a Specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine on the GMC Specialist Register or a trainee within six months of completing their CCT or on the GMC specialist register through CESR or European Community Rights at the time of application.
