The appointees will join a team of 7 other consultants in the Directorate of Medicine for the Elderly.
The development of a new consultant model of care for acute and elderly medicine has led to this exciting opportunity to appoint further consultant physicians in elderly medicine. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich forms the nucleus of a community project. As part of this, the hospital is moving to a separate take system for older people, with the development of an acute frailty hub at the hospital “front door”. This will interface with community services including intermediate care, discharge to assess teams, and the development of a community frailty hub within the local community hospital at Eltham.
The successful applicants will hold a CCT in General (Internal) Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.
A specialist interest in Elderly Medicine, to complement those of the other Elderly Medicine Consultants is encouraged. A commitment to education and training or other evidence of academic achievement will be an advantage.
Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust was established in October 2013, following the integration of Lewisham Healthcare NHS Trust and Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich.
