Come and join our team in Gloucestershire!

This is a full time Consultant post for the Gloucestershire Histopathology Laboratory based at Cheltenham General Hospital (CGH). The department works by sub-specialities and applications are especially welcome from those with interests in any of gynaecological, gastrointestinal or dermatopathology, together with Non Gynae Cytology.

Exposure to a wide range of interesting pathology in a well regarded and supportive team awaits successful applicants. Whilst the post is established at 10 PAs, workload management protocols are applied as required so additional sessions may be available.

Whole-time, part-time or job share applicants welcome – as are applications from those currently seeking to re-appraise their career pathway.

The Trust was formed in April 2002 and became a Foundation Trust in July 2004. We are situated on two sites, Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital, providing acute services to Gloucestershire within the Gloucestershire STP footprint – the Acute Trust, CCG and Council have coterminous boundaries meaning that planning is rapidly proceeding for delivery of integrated care pathways across the County. A new patient Care Record system, including a new laboratory information system, is currently being installed and the Trust is a spoke to the West of England Genomics Medical Centre hub in Bristol.

With its close proximity to the Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean, its excellent cultural and recreational facilities, superb housing and schools you will find Gloucestershire a highly desirable place to live and work.

There is good rail and road access to Bristol, Birmingham, South Wales and London.

For an informal discussion please contact: Mr Phil Bullock, Specialty Director (03004 224074) to discuss wider service and Trust matters and Dr Linmarie Ludeman, Head of Department, Histopathology (03004 223302) to discuss service-specific matters.
