Terms of appointment: The post is available as a secondment only for up to 4 years, and the successful applicant may retain their existing terms and conditions including salary.

Work Pattern: This is a full time role; however, we welcome applications from people who wish to work on a job share basis.

Outline of duties: The post supports the Welsh Government with the provision of issues of primary care and population healthcare, reporting to the Head of the Primary Care Division and professionally accountable to the Chief Medical Officer for Wales.

The post-holder will have the ability to translate complex, scientific information into clear policy advice.

You will be required to provide professional, clinical advice to the Welsh Government, in relation to primary care and population healthcare and support the drive to shift health sector resource and activity from hospital to community settings.

Support: The post is supported by the Primary Care and Major Health Conditions divisions.

Location: The post-holder may work from any of the Welsh Government offices, however, the applicant must be willing to travel across Wales for meetings and events and be available to support Government business in Cardiff for 2-3 days per week.
