Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Applicants are invited to apply for the post of Resident Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology based at Macclesfield District General Hospital.
The post holder will be the senior resident in the hospital, supported by a junior doctor, and a further consultant who will be non-resident on call. This job plan allows the post holder to deliver approximately three and a half direct Clinical PAs each week with three SPA in addition to the 1:8 week of nights and 1:8 weekend days, thus allowing for meaningful consultant work load and role.
This is a 10 PA Job plan (7.5DCC and 2.5 SPA) annualised due to the resident commitment We are a friendly, forward thinking team dedicated to providing high quality care for our patients and are looking for a dynamic colleague to join our team and complement the existing clinical expertise.
We would encourage the development of a subspecialty interest that compliments those of the existing consultants, we are a small team and it is important that you would fit into the team. We are 5 full time consultant, 1part time consultant (5.8 wte) and the post holder who will be resident.
This is a full-time post, based primarily within the Maternity & Gynaecology Department of Macclesfield Hospital.
Macclesfield is a very pleasant Cheshire town located on the edge of the Peak District. It is within easy travelling distance of many major cities and is only two hours from London by train.
Manchester International Airport is less than half an hour away by car. The town is within easy reach of the Peak National Park, offering opportunities for a wide variety of lifestyle and interests. The district is prosperous with an income above the national average with particularly good housing and schools.
