Consultant Clinical Oncologist
An opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Clinical Oncologist specialist interest in Lung, Colorectal and Carcinoma of Unknown Primary at Southend University Hospital.
The Oncology Team provides the Oncology Service for South Essex and Southend University Hospital is a recognised Cancer Centre.
The Oncology Centre based in Southend University Hospital has out-patient clinics at Southend University Hospital, Basildon & Thurrock University Hospital and Broomfield Hospital.
The Oncology Service within Southend Hospital is provided in the following locations:
- In-patients – Elizabeth Loury and Kitty Hubbard Oncology Wards
- Out-patients – Centre for Clinical Oncology
- Chemotherapy Unit
- Radiotherapy Department
The Essex Success Regime is a new collaborative between the NHS trusts encompassing Southend, Basildon and Mid Essex (Broomfield) acute and community trusts. It is anticipated that there will be re-organisation of specialist services following discussions with the stakeholders and the new appointee will be expected to co-operate with agreed working arrangements as they arise.
As mandated by the Academy of Royal Medical Colleges: The Benefits of Consultant Delivered Care 2012, we anticipate the provision of consultant cover for a seven day week subject to agreed revision of the job plans.
