Sue Ryder delivers over 3 million hours of care in the UK each year from our community services and 12 care centres. We are the country’s second largest provider of specialist end-of-life care and a leading provider of complex neurological and long-term condition care.

We have developed an ambitious five year plan to provide and develop the best possible care; and to grow our influence. The environment is challenging – income is under pressure from tougher trading conditions on the high street; fundraising remains competitive in an environment of increased public scrutiny and negative press coverage into fundraising practices; and in the face of restrictions on public spending, it is a struggle to secure income from Health & Social care commissioners that is reflective of the cost of the care we provide. Against this backdrop, we have achieved and continue to achieve a great deal by pushing the boundaries and continuing to innovate.

We are now seeking two new Trustees with specific clinical expertise to join our high calibre Board. In these crucial non-executive appointments, you will contribute through your own professional expertise and background and as a collegiate member of the team, ensuring that we are well positioned to deliver our strategic priorities. If you bring extensive clinical experience in either palliative or neurological care; both of which are at the heart of what we do at Sue Ryder, we would love to hear from you.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a successful and growing organisation with clear vision and tangible impact. As key new members of our Board, it will be critical that you share our mission to provide incredible hospice and neurological care to people and their families, and influence others so more people can access the care they need.

The closing date is Monday 3rd July 2017.
