An enthusiastic and highly motivated clinician is invited to submit an application for one replacement Consultant post in Gastroenterology and one new post in our expanding team.

This is an exciting time to work within our directorate. Our referral base continues to grow and we are extending our existing endoscopy units to provide the required capacity. In addition to being a Bowel Cancer Screening Centre, we have recently implemented our Bowel Scope Screening Programme.

You will be one of 16 consultants, and will be welcomed into our dynamic and busy department. This is an ideal time to join the team and have the opportunity to influence the development of services during this period of significant change. The job plan will be designed to minimise cross site working in any week and during each day, however you will be expected to work on any of the Trust’s Hospital Sites.

We have four endoscopy units across two sites and our non-elective inpatient services have been centralised onto the Royal Oldham Site. You will participate in a hot week rota to provide a timely and responsive service to our patients as well as an out of hours GI bleed rota.

Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust currently employs over 9,000 multidisciplinary staff across its four hospital sites, making it one of the largest Trusts in the UK providing secondary care for the North East region of Greater Manchester. All Trust locations are within easy reach of Manchester City Centre which offers a plethora of leisure and social opportunities. The Trust has placed its Mission Statement at the heart of all its objectives - “To be Responsible, Quality Driven and Compassionate”.

Potential applicants must be on the Specialist Register or within six months of achieving CCT (or equivalent) at the date of interview.

You are asked to insert a C.V. at the prompt on the on-line application process.

All communication to applicants will be via the email address provided on your application form and all further Correspondence will be through email, therefore please ensure that you regularly check your emails after the closing date for the post.

Although references are not requested until a conditional offer is made, we would be grateful if you could provide us with email addresses.
