Fellowship in Paediatric Radiology

This is a fixed term one year post aimed at post-CCT radiologists with an interest in paediatric imaging. It is designed to provide in depth experience of paediatric imaging to prepare the appointee for the position of consultant paediatric radiologist.
The appointee will work under the supervision of 5 experienced general paediatric radiologists and will gain experience of the full gamut of paediatric body imaging.
Depending on the special interests of the appointee there may also be the opportunity to be involved with paediatric neuroimaging and / or cardiac imaging under the supervision of experts in these areas.
The appointee will also be expected to present cases at weekly MDT and clinicoradiological meetings.
There will be two protected sessions for research and teaching and the appointee will be expected to present work locally and nationally and to submit articles to peer-review journals. Guidance and support for this will be provided by the supervising radiologists. There will also be the opportunity to undertake structured research which may lead to MSc under the supervision of Professor.S.Andronikou.
There will be an on-call commitment to general paediatric radiology likely to be in the region of 1:7.
This will be supervised by the consultant body.
The successful candidate must have full GMC registration. They must also possess FRCR (or equivalent), have completed their radiological training and be entered on the Specialist Register of the GMC at the start of the fellowship.
