Clinical Research Fellow in Urogynaecology (ST1+)
Post available from May - July 2017 until July 2019.

This exciting post offers you the opportunity to obtain research experience in Urogynaecology in a tertiary unit / teaching hospital in Central Manchester working closely with the Consultants and Clinical team. You will be accountable to the Lead Clinician in Urogynaecology and research supervisors. You will have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience and training whilst working in a busy tertiary referral centre as well as experience in clinical urogynaecology research. However the post is not recognised for training. 

The post will have a research and a clinical supervisor who will support the clinical components of the post by assisting in meeting the individual’s training and career goals, including regular appraisal and support to complete appropriate work-place based assessments.

The Warrell Unit is the Department of Urogynaecology at St Mary’s Hospital, which was founded in 1970 by Mr David Warrell, Consultant Gynaecologist. It is the largest urogynaecology department in the North of England and provides secondary and tertiary care for women with a wide variety of pelvic floor problems. It also provides investigative services for men with pelvic floor disorders. The unit is staffed by 3 Consultant Subspecialist Urogynaecologists, 1 Clinical Scientist and 3 Nurse Specialists. In addition a pelvic floor service is provided with 2 Consultant Colorectal Surgeons and a multidisciplinary service for women with fistulae is provided with a Consultant Urologist. There is a close liaison with radiology and care of the elderly colleagues.
