This is a fixed term (up to six years) Clinical Lectureship tenable in the Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation. Suitable applicants will hold MRCP (UK)/or equivalent and will have completed general professional training in medicine The successful candidate will be appointed at the level of Specialist/Specialty Registrar and will enter the West of Scotland Higher Specialty Training Programme.
Applicants must already have a national training number in infectious diseases/General Internal Medicine at the time of taking up the post.
The post will be based within the Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation in Glasgow, but for training and research purposes rotation to other clinical units or departments may be required. Clinical training will be a major focus of the Lectureship in order to ensure the appointee can successfully complete his/her CCT.
Training will be offered in infectious diseases and general medicine. Other specialist training opportunities are available within the Institute including methods relevant to cellular and molecular immunology, clinical trial design, conduct and analysis and the evaluation of disease mechanisms using biopsy and imaging based approaches.
