Clinical Fellow (ST2 – ST3 level) in Paediatric Emergency Medicine
We are pleased to be able to provide the opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated doctor to join the Emergency Department team at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. This Clinical Fellow post is available from August 2017 for duration of six months (with the possibility of extension) and will offer excellent training and supervision for those candidates who have previous experience in either general Emergency Medicine or acute Paediatrics.
As one of the UK’s busiest Paediatric Emergency Departments we see a broad case-mix of common and specialist conditions and our Trust is the designated Paediatric Major Trauma Centre within the West Midlands Trauma Network. The post will provide excellent opportunities to consolidate and develop skills prior to working at middle-grade level.
You will be part of a friendly and dedicated team of 7 Consultants, 1 Associate Specialist, 5 Specialty Doctors/Senior Clinical Fellows, 4 Specialist Registrars (from Emergency Medicine and Paediatrics), 8 ST2/3’s and 1 Teaching Fellow. We are also proud of our continued expansion in Advanced Nursing Practice. The Rota is full shift and EWTD compliant.
Although this is not a recognised training post, there is protected educational time to attend the formal teaching programme within the department.
