Faculty of Health and Life Sciences
Institute of Clinical Sciences
School of Medicine
Applications are invited from trainees, from any clinical discipline, who are fully registered medical practitioners and who have an interest in medical education. You will be required to undertake a major role in the organisation and delivery of the MBChB curriculum. It will be expected that you will work with a team of academic staff to implement the curriculum. In addition, you will play a major role in the delivery of University based teaching across the years. It is expected that you will also contribute to core School activities such as helping with admissions, assessment and student support. You will also be encouraged to participate in pedagogic research projects in medical education, in line with the strategic research interests of the School.
During the course of the appointment you will be supported to undertake a teaching qualification. Whilst this is an education focussed post, if you wanted to continue some clinical work, this could be discussed.
The posts have been designed to cover teaching within a broad range of clinical areas. You will therefore need to demonstrate knowledge and experience of a variety of clinical subjects in order to teach across a range of specialities. You should have a degree in Medicine and full GMC registration. The posts are fully funded by the School of Medicine. As either an out-of-programme experience or stand-alone experience, these posts will equip you in your future career to lead and inspire in medical education. The posts are available for 1 year and represent a career development opportunity.
