Reflecting a free and easy lifestyle, Adelaide has a Mediterranean climate where you can immerse yourself in the rich South Australian arts and culture scene, stroll along the spacious boulevards, or indulge and relax in one of the many fine cafes and restaurants. With sprawling picturesque coastlines and some of Australia’s most awarded wine regions within reach, South Australia is an ideal setting to further your career.

Lyell McEwin Hospital is piloting an innovative after-hours senior clinical cover model of care which aims to provide
a high level of quality care to patients, regardless of the time of the day or the day of the week. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Medical candidates who see themselves as potential leaders and are looking for flexible working hours to assist with establishing a Hospital at Night pilot program and a chance to work collaboratively and across disciplines.

To ensure the best possible care, an after-hours senior clinical cover model has been developed to improve clinical experience for patients and clinicians, through on-site senior clinical support and leadership for the after-hours periods (working nights). The main deliverable of this model of care is to ensure continuity of care for patients and continued active treatment to promote recovery with the additional support of the after-hours senior clinical team.

This significant pilot is a key initiative for SA Health and is intended to be rolled out to the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre at the conclusion of this pilot. Staff involved in the project will play a critical role in the development and testing of the model and
its applicability to other key sites.

These positions would suit a variety of candidates, including those currently studying and who can work nights one week on,
one week off, those looking for short term opportunities, registrars or residents and those having a Gap Year before deciding
on a specialisation.

Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, you will be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with general registration. You will have broad medical experience and ideally with experience in an acute care facility

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.
