Consultant in Clinical Oncology
Applications are invited for a Consultant in Clinical Oncology with a special interest in Head and Neck /Thyroid and Lung Cancers. This is a substantive appointment, based at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Northwood, London. The post comprises 10 programmed activities (PAs) and an on-call commitment.
Applications are invited for this reorganised replacement post available immediately Duties will be at the Lister Hospital, Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and Harefield Hospital, with more complex care and radiotherapy being delivered at the Cancer Centre. The post holder would be expected to have a strong interest in technical radiotherapy and in the further development of complex radiotherapy services including the use of stereotactic radiotherapy (SABR) in lung cancer. Research opportunities are excellent within the cancer centre and at all peripheral sites.
Mount Vernon Cancer Centre is the largest single site cancer centre in the south of England, and is a stand-alone centre. The Cancer Centre currently has 8 Linear accelerators (including 2 TrueBEAM machines capable of delivering rapid arc therapy) and two CT simulators and a cyberknife facility. Development plans also include the commissioning of MRI planning.
Applicants must be on the Specialist Register, or be within 6 months of doing so, at the time of interview. Applications from those wishing to work part-time or job share are welcomed.
